Audi S5 AFS headlight programming
Hello,
I had to replace right headlight and modules on my S5 but now it's displaying adaptive headlight error, a friend came by and scanned the car and got this: Saturday,18,June,2011,18:54:12:46862 VCDS Version: Release 10.6.0 Data version: 20100630 Address 55: Xenon Range Labels: 8T0-907-357.clb Control Module Part Number: 8H0 907 357 A HW: 8H0 907 357 Component and/or Version: AFS 1 H01 0020 Software Coding: 0000255 Work Shop Code: WSC 02145 785 00200 Additional Info: 7L6941329 AFS-Modul links H06 X014 ----------- AFS-Modul rechts VCID: 3064129E9C79459C 3 Faults Found 01042 - Control Module; Not Coded 000 - - - MIL ON Freeze Frame Fault Status: 11100000 Fault Priority: 2 Fault Frequency: 1 Reset counter: 80 Mileage: 6942 km Time Indication: 0 Date: 2009.07.06 Time: 20:59:10 02234 - Right Headlight Power Output Stage (J668) 004 - No Signal/Communication - MIL ON Freeze Frame Fault Status: 11100100 Fault Priority: 2 Fault Frequency: 1 Reset counter: 80 Mileage: 6942 km Time Indication: 0 Date: 2009.07.06 Time: 20:59:10 01539 - Headlights Not Adjusted 005 - No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation - MIL ON Freeze Frame Fault Status: 11100101 Fault Priority: 2 Fault Frequency: 1 Reset counter: 80 Mileage: 6942 km Time Indication: 0 Date: 2009.07.06 Time: 20:59:10 My main issue is with code 02234, as it seem to indicate there might be an issue with the control module or wiring problem, if it's module would this refer to Ballast or AFS module? Also I tried coding the module by using code 0000017 but it displayed error and didn't do anything, I wonder if it's because of 02234? Any suggestions appreciated :o) Art |
Where did you get the replacement headlights/modules from? They seem to be old/incomatible and the right one isn't even communication/online. What happened to the car to begin with?

Replaced both headlights after a front end damage. Left module is original, right one was bought used. Took to dealer and after $300 later they told me the module is not compatible, and is actually a wrong one.
Somehow I suspected it might not work since the part# of used one is 7L6941329 and original is 7L6941329A, but was hoping that the "A" would make no difference, but it clearly does matter. Anyways, I've ordered a new AFS 7L6941329A module, lets see what happens once that's installed. Fingers crossed it will work, I am so used to Japanese cars, you plug the darn thing in and it just works, no "coding" involved :o) Art |
Often a part number with a suffix compared to the identical base part number w/o suffix, the one with suffix is the updated/newer part. Installing older parts is generally a bad idea. I am reasonably certain that you will not make this work but mostly not because the part may not be compatible. The real issue is that the new/used part is not communicating at all, so it may already be faulty or the wiring might have been damaged.
// Edit Looks like I missed the essential part here. Thanks for using a pirated version of our product. I'll make sure this will have been the last help you'll get from us. :( :( Real VCDS Systems can be obtained through our online store. http://store.ross-tech.com |
Thanks for suggestions, one of local electrical gurus provided me with the scan, so not sure if his tool is legit or not.
Regardless, I might consider buying one from you myself, it seems to work better with VW cars than Launch x431. |
Hello,
