High Speed Hood Flutter
 

Does anyone else have any issues with their hood fluttering at speeds above 85 mph? Mine seems to flutter (perceptible but not alarming). Hood is secure and the stops seem to be adjusted at the right point for loading the hood. For a car designed with autobahn speeds in mind, it just doesn't seem right.

I am a few thousand miles away from the next service visit so thought I would just check here first.

I have not noticed my hood fluttering at those speeds.

I've been right up to the limiter... no flutter.

Flutterless

No flutter at all with speeds well in excess of 85 mph. Definitely worth having checked out with service.

I had this when I first picked up the car. Never had it on my 2010. I haven't inoticed it lately but I'm not sure if maybe the hood just wasn't closed quite right initially or it was just the way the wind was hitting it. Either way I'll get it checked during the first service.

Got a Petro Canada Car was season pass for the winter, and I noticed a bit of flutter when I was passing though the super duty driers at the end.

Didn't think anything of it, becuase I remember Chris Harris' S4 doing the same thing.


I will try to remember to take a video next time I'm in there and post it. See if it is similar to what you experience.

On my track day, no issues.

Are you sure you are not missing some of the under hood rubber stops?
