Next will be a chair with piano wheels, back and head support at the right height. Ramp is 30" high.

WOW - HOLY CRAP...

Quite some garage furniture!

Novel too. Cool.

you must have been sweating bullets the first time you drove on it. Possibly runing through your mind "Do I have 1 gallon of gas too much" or "that donut spare would have been a nice upgrade".

Nice work, not something you want to slap together on a whim for sure.

Looks good. You did use wood glue too, correct?

mishar 05-06-2012 07:55 AM

Glue by all means. Makes it way stronger. Point was that I can disassemble and use them as shelves parked on top of each other and that my other set of wheels fit inside. That required 28.5" OC spans and 30" height. Garage door 7' and quite low A8L clearance required angled position. When climbing it for the first time the most important was to watch for a roof clearance. Everything was good in AutoCAD, but knowing so many perfect designs that don't work made me a bit nervous. :)

That's Cool!

Like the...

double duty tire storage idea too. I was wondering how big the garage would otherwise be to house them for single purpose.

Wow, impressive for sure, but...

.. I really don't want to offend you Mishar, but what was the point, the aim?

Well, I don't want to offend you either, but isn't it quite obvious? There are a number of things you can reach only from underneath your car. I like doing as much as possible myself. Not that I don't know that it could be cheaper to pay for it, but in my opinion there are very few shops I would thrust. Even fewer with A8. So instead of paying for ATF change I made my own ramp. Now I can change it the way I want. Fuel filter is next, camber alignment after that, and so on. I also have a number of friends with similar level of thrust for mechanics and same love for a bear. :)
