RS5 Order Process and salesman responses
 

I ordered an RS5 Cabriolet on June 14, 2013. Since then I've gotten several updates from my salesperson about the status of the order. the salesman seems like a good guy, and i truly appreciate his monthly updates. but i'm just wondering if he's blowing smoke up my a$$. Is it a salesman tactic to say my car is the next in line, or is he getting bad information from Germany? I'm counting the days until it arrives!

Here are his responses:

7/23/2013 - Ordered by dealer.

8/16/2013 - "Hope all is well! I have been keeping an eye on your order. It has not gone in for production just yet but I am expecting it go in very soon since you are the next in line and no other build are in front of you. I will let you know when I have a little better information. Once the car goes into production I will be able to give you a very good time frame on when it will be here."

9/25/2013 - "I hope all is well. Wanted to let you know that your vehicle just went in for production. I called corporate and had them push to the front of the line for you. We should be not be too much further out at this time. Let me know if you have any other questions. I will keep you updated as it gets closer."

10/21/2013 - phone call from the salesman with an approximate ETA of 2nd week of November.

The dates are probably accurate.

Yes, the salesman has pull in Germany. He can push other orders out of the way. Your salesman is full of it. Thank God he's not a doctor- he'd surely have God complex.

If he has been completely transparent with you, he would send you something that looked like this:

Release to Manuf. 09/28/2012
Release for Production 10/22/2012

Ship Loaded 11/20/2012

I cut out some of the items, but he should be able to give you something like the above which is a cut & paste from the dealers Audi website.

Keep us posted as I am in the same situation with my RS5 order. Hoping for mid December delivery.

Ask your Sm to send you print out sheets of your order status..he can get them from accessaudi.com and he knows that!
