sun roof question

I intend on ordering after the first of the year. However I am looking to delete the sunroof given the past issues and law suite settlement. I have not seen any inventory w/o the sunroof though. Is anyone else concerned about the sunroof and have you encountered any reluctance by the dealer to place an order w/o including the sunroof.

First time poster and enjoy reading the forum.

I, too was concerned about the panorama sunroof because western Montana is very cold in the winter. I asked the same question as you on this forum and got 100% positive reviews about heat & cold. My Scuba Blue Q5 arrived in April '13 and we immediately went on a long trip to Utah & Arizona. Great views for the rear passengers. No issues with a hot interior then or during our summer. Winter is about to arrive. I'll know soon if the positive reviews about cold wx were warranted.

We have one in our Q5 and have not had any issues - and Colorado gets 300 days of sun per year

I just wasn't sure but with so many, if not all, having the sunroof it must be ok. I usually keep a vehicle about 10 years and was worried about any longevity issues.

Again, thanks for the response. I test drove the diesel and really liked it. Seems like a very good balance between mpg, power, and longevity.

This thread has some thoughts about sunroof vs no sunroof

I've chosen to not have it. The dealer had no problem ordering the car that way.
