general advice for 1.9 tdi (red eye)
 

hi ive just bought a 1997 a4 tdi 110bhp the car came without any manuals, so i need to know the service intervals for cambelt change services and oil change and whaty type of oil is best to use? and any other info that you think might be relevant to me and my car all help given will be much appreciated

I would order an owner's manual for your car. The dealer can give you the phone number to call for it. I called 800-544-8021 to order my manual, but I think that's only relevant in the US. Not sure about the timing belt service interval. They vary from 60k miles to 100k miles depending on the year of the engine. The dealer can sldo provide that info if needed. Finally, the oil change interval is usually 16k km (10k miles). Non PD engines need 505.00 spec and PD ones need 505.01 spec oil. You don't have to buy the oil from a dealer, but don't discount them since they can have decent prices. A common 505.00 oil is Mobil Delvac 1. Some common 501.01 oils are Pentosyn 505.01 and ELF Excellium DID. Hope that helps a bit.

For an AFN engined B5 A4 1.9tdi 110:

'In1' Inspection service + oil change every 12 months or 10,000 miles (it is best to change the oil every 4-6 months.

Cam belt every 60,000 miles
