Rear camera exposed

With all this recent winter driving, I've noticed that the rear camera on the Q5 gets dirty in a single drive. It's a little much to go out and clean the lens after every drive!

I've known some other cars to have the retractable camera which folds up into the body when not in reverse/parking mode. Do any of the other Audis do this?

P.S. Any recommendations for cleaning it without risking scratching it? Can just get a film of dirt but also stuck-on pieces, salt, etc...

I always use RainX. Put some on a Q-tip and apply it to the lens. The lens is glass so it won't scratch.

Never had an issue with the rear camera on any of my cars. Sure, it gets dirty in inclement weather, but still stays relatively easy to see through. Just treat it with some rain-x or sealant to help repel water and dirt.

Mine always manages to stay clean regardless of weather, if not, the sensors suffice usually

I carry a spray bottle of windshield wiper fluid in the hatch and give the camera a few sprays just before getting in the car.

Oh by the way. It's not a dirty lens, it's a built in indicator that you need to wash your car. Lol.
