140K miles on my '01 A8L... What a great freaking car...
 

I have had several cars since my first Audi- The A6 4.2 that is my username.

I bought a 2001 A8L with 25K miles on it almost 7 years ago. For the last two years my son has been driving the wheels off of it He just left for an international trip and I have been driving this car again for the last few days. This might just be the best sedan I have ever owned, and I've owned just about all of them.

Even after 140k miles it is solid as a rock. It is connected to the road in a way that is uniquely Audi. Yes, there are a few trim pieces missing on the outside, the Cashmere paint doesn't look exactly like it did when I bought it, and, the interior has a few bruises.

With that all said, I can't remember what I was thinking when I gave this car to my son! What a great machine.

I'm still sorting through some (minor-ish) issues with mine, but the caliber of the car shines through all of it!

Too bad Audi never made a LWB S8
