New :: 2006 A8L 4.2 Sport

I had the opportunity to flip my 2005 A8L thru my dealer.

So I executed a sold-order purchase on a 2006 A8L with the exact packages, details, colors and options that I wanted.

So here's what's new and different - and why this car is so much better than the 2005 ::

Leather : So much more supple than 2005. Better quality and the ventillation feature is subtle but effective. Leather center console, rear climate console and front/rear armrests are incredible details that complete the car.

Alcantara Package : Decadent. Luxurious. So sweet. I only wish it was in black rather than in platinum.

Front Seats : There are some very noticeable and important details here. First, is the better lateral bolstering and the addition of the thigh-length bolster on the passenger seat.

For sure the value of the front seat passenger/consumer has been nitatged.

Solar : It was 95 degrees the day I took delivery. Works better than I expected.

Bluetooth : Such a smart system that I cannot believe I was using OnStar just 3 days ago and liked it. After the system imported the data from my Motorola SLVR SIM card, it read the Entourage database on my Apple PowerBook G4 thru Bluetooth as well.

Sports Package : This is the killer option. Lower, stiffer, paddle shifters! So fun. Great wheels that make the car look way more agressive. I would suggest to all that you order this package.

Dual Paned Glass : Quiet. Incredibly quiet.

Adaptive Headlights : It really works.

Power Door Close Assist : Perfect for kids and wives that cannot close the door.

::

And now I have a few things left to do to complete the details of the car ::

Spacers : H&R DRA 20MM in front. H&R DRA 30MM in rear.

Tint : Huper Optik 30%

Front Trim : Bought the trim pieces that Der Kimbo was selling last month. They eliminate the yellow signal light for the full-black front optic.

Clear Bra : TBD. Suggestions welcome.

Configured with these options, mods and packages - this is the ultimate A8L. Thanks to Liam for the guiding light.

More pictures to come when the car is complete.

Looks sharp, congratulations! Wish had the sport package...

my car was too far along in production when they announced the availability of that package. :-(

Sport Package is worth the effort to order and the cost...

I like the change from the 12-spokes - more aggressive...

thanks for the note.

NO CLEAR BRA

I wouldn't do clear bra again.
When car is dirty - you see the line. If you want to wash and wax your own car - its a pain to keep wax from getting stuck on that line and getting a smooth finish around it (use micro fiber towel and wipe along the line - if you do go this route) I just think it takes away from the looks. I will admit that my clear bar saved me, but not from rocks - I rubbed a parking pillar, very slightly and it just left a little scuff on the clear bra and then I pealed it off and it nice and perfect underneath.

Also people would ask what it was and touch it and smudge the car - its your call. Other then that, I agree with the mods and love the options - envy ; ]
