HOOOGE props to Nick & the Prima twins. I'd tried these products before, in small measure, but
today I did a full detail on a FOT Daytona Gray RS4.
First, if you've not seen this color, it's kinda like Dolphin with an extra pound of metal flake in each gallon of paint. I mean, this is possibly the most metallic paint I've ever seen, just beautiful. Now, since it was brand spankin' new, it didn't need any correction whatsoever, with the exception of a verrrrrrry small scuff on the RR fender. So, after a wash and that little thing corrected, I went in with Amigo blazing. You've all heard me rave about how easy GEPC is to use, and how slick it leaves the paint feeling. Well, Amigo is every bit as good in both respects. Applied with the gray pad, and worked until almost gone, it is extremely easy to buff off, with no dust. Gloss & slickness are outstanding at this point. Next came Epic, which is probably the best "a little goes a long way" product I've come across. If 2 oz of FMJ can do 2 coats on an A4, I'd bet even less Epic is required for the same feat. Lastly, at the customer's request, I topped my work with a test sample of some very nice carnauba wax. Phil, if you're reading, removing immediately is definitely the correct procedure, and used that way it's a great wax. The customer was extremely pleased, and I think the results speak for themselves. BTW, if anyone is looking for an Avus RS4, we have one. Let them know Troy sent you. :) |
I think too much metalic. on the paint.. and it's harder to teel the depth of the color with
that much of metalic...
I like solid deap color better that's just my opinion.. |
In person it's much deeper. I had poor, low-angle lighting by the time I was done.
|
Oh i see, it's hard to take a pic on metalic to show its depth because of its reflexion.
|
Awesome Troy, the Prima line is in deed respectable.
|
There should be a rule about taking pics of an RS4 with a Sundance in the background....
: )
Great work!!! Amigo and Epic are a great 1-2 punch |
Very nice work! I
I have some of that Carnauba Wax available for sale if anyone is interested
But once it goes that will be it. 8 oz for $19.99. |
LOL, yeah. I had to follow the sun.
