RS7 versus S8 engine

What are the differences between the two engines?

3.4 seconds versus 3.5 seconds zero to sixty, but the S8 is heavier?

I heard the dual intake of the S8 make the engines on par?

Please she'd some light

All I've ever read is that the RS6/7 make more boost than the S8. Engine and drivetrain are the same, otherwise.

There's a good discussion on motortrend with Lieberman and the head of audi Quattro division on wide open throttle

Correct. Few minor things...the discussion mentioned above of the guys in charge of the RS7 program stated clearly the RS7 will indeed be faster than the S8. The 3.5 is sandbagging.

The S8 & RS7 share the same engine basically. And I say basically because the housing in the RS7 is very different, and therefore, the biggest change was made to the intake of the Turbos shaping into a V, and much closer to main compartment. In a way many are right - boost pressure goes way up with that much logistics put into it. I'm sure to make it fit, a few things were "tweaked" along the way, but from what I understand, this is more powerful in almost every aspect. It shares the engine put into the Bentley C. GT (with more horsepower & boost). It can take a F40 up to at least 70, and give an R8 a run for its money! It will be a while before we see a lot of these head to heads - ppl still need to break them in!

I leave the floor to the engineers and audi guru's however, I'm just a simple being :)
