New S4 Cab and love it!

I just posted this on the S4 Forum but thought someone here my like to see the new 07's.

This is one of my first posts. I ordered my MY07 S4 last May. This forum has been very good at getting me excited about delivery of my new car. I had a 1984 BMW 325e and totaled it in a snow storm between Milwaukee and Chicago in 1988, ice on a bridge. Ever since then I have had vans, mini vans and SUV's. It was time for something new.

I have a friend with a B6 S4 avant with the twin turbo's but he lives about 150mi away. I went to see if I could fit in the Cab and it has lots of room, I am 6'5". Next I went for a test drive in an S4 Avant. I was sold on the spot. The V8 just wants to GO! I have 2 young girls, 4 and 8. My wife does not drive a stick so I had to go Tip.

I took me a week to convice her that this $70,000 car makes sense for us. Whe had just spent 5 years fixing up the house for "US". We have done it all, Kitchen, roof, landscaping, painting, and lastly furniture, over $200,000. She liked the new grill on the 07, even thou I was not so hot on it I ordered a silver with black interior. I was thinking Silver with Red but she was not into anything flashy. I was willing to do anything to get the car so I went with it. I have seen some photos of the Red interior and it looks quite bright. The new grill has grown on me if you don't have a front plate. I am glad I waited, even thou it was a long summer watching everyone else in convertiables.

I got all of the options, Nav, Bluetooth, carbon fiber trim, parktronic, rear heated seats, preimum, and air presure monitoring. I was surprised that they changed the Preimium wheels but I like the replacement as much as last years.

I got the car 3 weeks ago and have not been able to get any good pictures as I can't stop driving it. The sound of the V8 is intoxicating with the top down. The top has been down every dry day and I love it. The first day I went 3 exits past work. This car just wants to go fast, you just touch the gas and you are going 95mph. It has been a long time since I have gone this fast this often. I know that I have some encounters with the police comming. It has been 22 years since my last ticket in the 325e.

As for all the talk about gas mileage on this post all I have to say is get a life, fun costs money.

I do not know how to post multiple photos and have tried , ; : and spaces between the URL's. What is the trick? You should be able to click on my ID number and see some more pics.

Nice cab! I'd definitely go with snow tires if you plan on driving . . .

much in the snow. I run 17" wheels with dedcated snow tires in the winter on mine, and have been unstoppable over two winters. The 17s definitely don't look as good as the 18s, but the narrower tire grips better in the snow.

If you think the stock V8 sounds good--try an aftermarket exhaust. It changes the whole car. See my post a few below.

Welcome

I love the sound of Audi V8s. An open car with a great sounding engine is the absolute ideal. Enjoy your car!

Re: Ditto ---- Welcome - Yes it is..

This is my first Audi.

I had a rental A4 2.0T sedan since June until the S4 cab came in. That was fun but a far cry from the S4.

Welcome to the club.

1) Sorry you had to pay so much for it (I got mine a year old with 12k miles on it for 65% of that), buy money doesn't seem to be an issue for you.

2) as for the gas mileage, thank you wife for her inability to drive a stick. From what I can gather from other S4 drivers with the manual, we (automatic drivers) get about 25% better gas mileage. Still not good, but I can get 25mpg on the highway. After about 617 years you'll have saved enough on gas to pay for your new kitchen.

3) that 2.0t A4 is a really nice upgrade in that car. I loved the loaner the dealership gave me recently.

4) nice color combo as well. The red seats are definitely flashy. And I saw one on ebay last year that was Sprint blue with platinum (white) seat and the price on that thing was getting "stupid" low with only 1800 miles on it.

5)I don't know where you live, but in TX you take the top down in the "winter" and leave it up with the A/C on during the summer. So I'm finally able to take the top down again with our recent "cool" weather.

6) Enjoy. This car portrays elegance and sophistication without being flashy. People turn their head and say "is that an Audi?"
Let the flashers drive the Benz' and Corvettes.

Thanks for the input.

I am up north in Wisconsin. We have had rain but today it was 61 on the way to work and the top was down and will stay that way until we get into the low 50's. Summer up here we can have the top down for all but a few hot days.

Re: Congrats!

Love the wheels.
Yes, fun can cost money (that made me laugh).
I will keep that in mind next time I get gas.
Enjoy your car!
