Am I going crazy?

So, I love my new TDI, but I'm having this weird issue. The lights dial (turns lights on, off or auto) seems to sometimes be on off, even though I leave it in 'AUTO' mode all the time. Is this a 'feature' of Audi, or is it a glitch? I've thought maybe my knee is hitting it on the way in and out of the drivers seat, but kind of doubt it. Anyone help here?

You mean it's physically moving itself!?

If so my only suggestion is you have a ghost!? Or does anyone else ever drive it?

It's likely self-inflicted

BTDT. Drives my wife nuts when the switch magically moves.

I concluded I am doing it without even thinking about it because I hear the bong tone stuff when I'm exiting. The car is trying to tell me to get the ignition all the way off (it's a Hybrid so harder to tell), but in my Pavlovian mind from prior Audi training I figure it's the same gong for the headlights so turn that switch to off. If the gong continues, I kill the ignition fully but then forget I just fiddled w/ the light switch. My best guess of how the switch gets moved w/ out my realizing, or just forgetting I did it.

Knee on switch. Happens all the time...to the best of us...

You guys must all have extremely long femurs! Either that or you are humping the steering wheel whilst driving...!

My knee is miles away from the switch!

My last car (BMW) had auto lights, EVERY time it went for a service it came back with the lights off, not auto. I never did find out why they felt the need to turn them off!

It happened 3-4 times that my my knee hit the switch and gone on off

The knee thing occaisionally happens on my C7 A6 as well. I think it's a feature found in most new Audis - "Auto Headlight Knee Control Override".

It happens to me..I HATE IT.

I 1st believed it was my kids playing a joke
on me..But it happen when the kids were not around.

I think its my knee...

I love the auto lights and have had them in my cars for
sometime..This is a problem as you get used to just getting in
your car and driving..Then find out your lights are off.

Anyone over 6 feet will have this problem...
Now I look every time I get in to make sure I don't hit the knob with my knee..

Soon I will tape it in place..haha...
