Car Shakes around 60-70 mph? CV Axle? Tie Rods? Control arm?
I know both my cv joints are shot - could this be the reason for the car shaking when i go around 60-70mph? I really dont think its the tires that need balancing. I can hear some clunking while the car shakes. Any idea what it could be?
TIA. |

Definitely fix the axles first.
They can definitely cause wheel shake, along with tie rods, and control arms being warn! We have replacements available below! Click HERE to order or for more information. http://c1552172.cdn.cloudfiles.racks...87737_x600.jpg Let me know if you have any questions. Pete |
Most likely factor is tires or wheels. But as you stated, there is already a problem with your car. I'd say get that sorted out then go from there. you sta

Hey Pete, similar issue……
Audi A6 2.8L ATQ 2000 C5 I have a clicking noise coming from the right side of the engin, I had a local shop put it on the left to see what’s wrong with it. The guy told me that I have 2 worn upper control arms and wishbone needs to be replaced. Not sure what is the wishbone but it’s in the picture. The wishbone goes from next to the control arm going to the engin compartment. That part that makes the clicking noise is the one that connected to the engin compartment. The guy tried to see if it was lose from the top back of the engin, but it was tied on. I am thinking to replace the full set of control arm the 12 psc. What you recommend? I see the Febi and Meyle… I like the meyle for its 4 years warantee but someone ne said that dealer had issues with them and they started to use Febi. What do you recommend, and what’s the wishbone thing. And will it be included in the kit? What is the name of that part that I highlited In the picture? what should I order to get this done over with. thanks |
