Air bag light reset procedure (anyone try this?)
 

My airbag light came on 2 weeks ago. It is throwing the same code as described in the links provided below:

I suppose unless someone here tells me this will turn my car into a bomb, I am going to give it a shot.

N95 and N250 are for the steering wheel airbag, I am not sure that the issue will be fixed with the above links. My niece's Jetta had the same issue, but it was a seatbelt fault, so I did that procedure and it worked.

It seems that you have a problem either with the module, the airbag or the connections to the airbag.

You appear to be correct. I called the dealer, asked them about a TSB for airbags and they confirmed that they are hardwiring the plug under the seat and of course told me not to do it.

I did it. It didn't work. LAME.

Ever since I moved to the colder climate it has been one thing after another.

3 months ago I would call this thread the dumbest thing I read, nowadays after reading most of the threads here I would say is just average.
the fix they talk there is for the side air bag only and is not actually recommended, the problem you have is with the driver's air unit, which before you cut any wires should try to reset first.

Talk all the **** you want, it was your boys that told me what they do "for this scenario". The light won't reset.

First, this is something you read somewhere and try hoping it would fix your light, correct?
second, did you even bother to find out about what the fault number refers to? definitely not
keep trying everything you read it may eventually work.

Well if you are Jose... then the same people that trained you, trained the people that confirmed the technique. Besides, bypassing a connector is hardly an issue.

So by bothering to find out what the fault referred to...yes, I did try. And I will keep trying things until it rains.

at least try to get closer by researching the actual fault, N95,N250 refer to the actual air bag unit in the steering wheel, which involves the spiral ring as well.
first as I said try to reset (which you stated already done), second I would remove the unit from the steering, there,s two connectors there, be careful not to pull them as damage to the spiral ring will ocur, try unplugging and plugging them again and reset the fault, this works most of the time as connectors sometimes lose continuity.
remember to touch a solid piece of metal in the car like the door striker to ground yourself and avoid a static discharge.
better yet let somebody who knows what is doing handle it.
