Poll: Do we want an SQ5 specific forum?

We've had some requests for it, but want to gauge the want/need for it. I'm fine adding it, or not adding it, depending on the overall feelings of the members.

FWIW, think longer term as well as common platform similarities

Having been on the AW boards 10+ years , in the short term these sometimes have interest, but for the long haul I question whether it's worth it. I was there when the RS6 board was peeled off the C5 A6/S6 board as an example. That seemed to arise in part due to some friction there among first time owners, which I don't sense here. Regardless, years later the separation is still there and the RS6 board seems pretty dormant. Yet if you have an issue on your older C5, with most elements in common, both boards may need to be accessed and searched/posted, which is awkward. Another site (QW) has an RS5 board on its own that is almost unused even as a current model--the last non-sponsor post was over two months ago. Makes it less useful to me than if the board was unified--came up when I was researching the RS5 brake mod for Q5's.

Besides that, much of the vehicle is the same so questions about many aspects cross over, whether purchases, mods, service and warranty, Nav, Connect, sound system, winter tires and wheels, or many other items. Having been on the much lower volume D3 board for years and owning one of the big motor ones there, it definitely helps to have folks in one place regardless of motor for all of these areas and questions. You need a certain critical mass to keep a board going I think, particularly the enthusiast types later on.

My opinion is that it is not necessary

SQ5 is 95% the same car as the Q5 3.0TFSI, (same engine, transmission, chassis, MMI....)

+whatever.

I agree... the cars are similar enough that a separate forum is not required.

While it would be nice I think I'd miss out on the info that fits both cars.

My vote is to keep it combined.

As an SQ5 owner, not necessary. Both S and non-S owners benefit more if everything is in one place.

The SQ5 is so similar to the Q5, I don't see much advantage to it having it's own forum. Even if I owned an SQ5, I don't think I'd bother visiting a SQ5-specific forum since the issues/concerns are the same as any other Q5.

Keep it together. There's enough overlap as noted already. Plus there's not too much traffic here. In fact, while I visit several Audi forums and have been here for nearly 15 years now (OMG), the main reason I visit AW for my Q5 content is because there is decent traffic here. So please don't cut that down :)

But most importantly because Jose with his TDI SQ5 would have no idea where to post ;)

Maybe when they release an RSQ5 or an RSQ5 TDI we can separate. lol.
