Need help to bypass IMMOBILIZER...

can you give me advice on the following:

My Immobilizer is failing on my European 1997 B5 Audi A4, meaning sometimes it does not accept my key (any of my keys, actually). I need to try a few times and then it is okay, but this is annoying. Instead of buying a new immo unit, i would prefer to switch it off. Can you tell me if this is possible through software? I know car thieves might use the information but i am a legitimate owner of the car. Please use my email for sensitive information.

If you have any other ideas please let me know. Honestly, my car is not a main target for stealing anymore, as its value is not much. The shift-lock is adequate safety for me, with the Immo off.

The Fault Code:

Address 25 -------------------------------------------------------
Controller: 4A0 953 234 F
Component: IMMO AUZ9Z0T8932058 D77
Coding: 00000
Shop #: WSC 00066
1 Fault Found:
01176 - Key
07-10 - Signal to Low - Intermittent

Thank you in advance!

Sincerely, CyberJedi (at) freemail (dot) hu

maybe you need a new ignition cylinder reader coil

I'd imagine that you have immobilizer system 1 which we did not get stateside. None of our B5's had immobilizer systems enabled.
