Audi - Winter Wheel and Tire - SQ5 for $3360
Folks,
Wanted to check - if the following Winter Wheel and Tire package is from the Audi Dealership is a good deal? Winter Wheel and Tire Package for Audi SQ5 - Model Year 2014. 7.0x19" ET50 alloy wheel package with Continental CrossContactWinter AO 235/55R19 101H tires $3360.00 Thanks RK |
Full price is $4200. Others on here have paid that much. So it seems like a pretty good price.

"Good" is relative, but why would anyone want invest that much in a winter setup?

If you want to stick with OEM and pay much more for a winter setup that will do it for you.
I think that's about $1300 more than most aftermarket good/decent winter setups. My personal opinion is that a winter set is going to take abuse so why spend more than needed. |
versus about $1400 for the Tirerack special with Blizzaks. I agree with laakness - going aftermarket is the way to go for winter wheels because they are going to be abused anyways. the most important thing is to choose good rubber.

I think it's $ 1300 a little low price for 19 "winter set of wheels Quality rims cost about $ 1000-1200 (hartmann) + tires $600-900 |

Rims are rims; but tires are not tires. There are HUGE differences in winter capability. Depending on where you live, the choices can be different. Some people live where ice is the problem; that's one kind of winter tire. But that tire is typically not the greatest in the snow. So, choose accordingly and carefully. It's all about tread pattern siping, and rubber compound.
