WIll ECU upgrade avoid whole vehicle warranty?

Hello guys,

I am thinking about getting stasis ECU upgrade....

Question I have is, is it going to avoid all factory warranty or just engine parts?

Also, what would happen to my maintenance program? would it be avoided as well?

Modifying the ECU will flag a "TD1" in Audi's system when brought in for service. The warranty on the car will not be affected unless a problem points to the ECU mod as determined by Audi. This is essentially true of any mod; while upgrade manufacturers may have their own limited warranty (read the Stasis fine print), Audi will refuse factory warranty coverage on any failure of, or problems caused by, an after-market part. Audi spells it out in the car's Warranty guide.

if it is done by the dealer you should be fine. the dealer that I got my Q5 from does Stasis tuning. Adds additional warranty on it. im not sure how much more but that's what they told me.

The Stasis warranty replaces Audi's warranty. Once your vehicle is flagged as being "TD1", the decision whether to provide warranty coverage lies entirely with Audi corporate, not the dealer. In the good 'ole days (a few years ago)your good relationship with the SA meant something, but when it comes to TD1, Audi holds the hammer. Read the fine print of Stasis' warranty.

not quite, some dealers will not flag if your doing the Stassis tuning from them. but double check with the dealers first.

My understanding is it now procedure that when is car is brought in for service, for whatever reason, that it must be connected to the system, which is the Audi mothership. The decision to TD1 or not TD1 does not lie with the dealer at all.

To repeat, read the Audi warranty book and read the Stasis warranty. What's there in writing trumps any conjecture. Nothing claimed by a dealer (or anyone else) can be relied on to be accurate.

Are you asking if it "voids" the warranty or if it "avoids" as in getting around the warranty?
