Fixed: 17964 charge pressure control: negative deviation
I never posted that I had a problem. I searched the forums and found what I was looking for. I'm posting up the fix to this problem so that others won't have to read through pages of "I have a problem" until they read an "I have a solution" post. Does that make sense? Just trying to help out those who are searching out the same problem. ;-)
I had been feeling the car lose power and not make as much boost. I have an APR 1 bar chip that will hold a solid bar. However, it has been holding around 0.8 bar and hopping of chipped mod under heavy acceleration by the time I am in third. It got so bad that I couldn't even make it to the 1/8 mile mark at the track before it would go into soft limp. No CEL shown. I VAG COMed it and showed only one code: 17964 charge pressure control: negative deviation. I STF's and found a lot of suggestions. Most of which pointed to a boost leak. That was truly the case. I found the following post and accompanying image. That turned out to be my problem. $11.45 later, the car is back to normal. Just thought you all should know. ;-)

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/2563533.phtml</a

|
Check the Suction Pump
That hose is connected to the SP and if that hose split, SP is probably next.
|
Two questions: What is the purpose of the suction pump and how do I check it?
|
Scrath that, STFA. ;-)
|
The SP is prob OK
mine split in 1/2 where the small end is pressed in and it wasnt noticable.
