Handbrake Light
 

Could anyone advise on the cause / meaning of an intermittent handbrake warning and beep ? I have an '03 A4 3.0 M/q, and over the last 3 days have had occasions where the red handbrake light flashes and beeps for a few seconds, then goes off. This is the actual red "idiot" light, not the diagnostic panel. BTW this is happening at very cold (5F) temperatures on snow covered / salted roads, usually when cornering at low speeds. And yes, the handbrake is fully disengaged. Thanks

I assume you are talking about the red "Brake" light about the Driver Information Display and no other lights come, first step is to check Brake Fluid level.
