Air Filter Change
Had the Q in for the 35K and they dont change the air filter till 55K on the 3.2. WOW, that sucks. So ask how much to do it and thought they quoted around $90.Forget that so I ordered one on line for $25 inc. shipping so I can replace it before our trip to FLORIDA in 2 weeks.
They changed the cabin filter but not the engine air filter, and also flushed the brake fluid at the 35K mark, changed oil and oil filter and replaced wiper blades too. So guess we are good to go. |
Agreed
From my prior modern Audi air filter experience, 55K sounds a lot too long. I would either change it mid cycle or (carefully) blow the filter clean with an air nozzle.
On my W12 at 6.0L with a very high flow/straight into the air boxes set up--and two of them with cylindrical filters--the change interval is every 40K. But even at that interval I find them visually pretty dirty and with some obvious debris by 20K. So I just open the boxes and blow them clean at each second oil change/halfway between the major service intervals. |
DONE
Internet ordered, 4 days delivery. 30 minutes to change it.
Total cost $25 at home vs $90 at dealer. $65 for a tank of gas. |
This thread was a good reminder. Ordered from ecs tuning a couple of days ago and changed it today. Really easy job to replace engine and cabin air filters. Thanks.
