Differences between the 3.0TFSI flavours?
 

Has anyone been able to document the differences between the different outputs 3.0TFSI motors?
I'm most interested in whether or not the internals are the same across the range.

Perhaps someone with a copy of ETKA could do a quick check?

+1 I'm curious what was changed on the upcoming SQ5 engine other than boost pressure

After reading a few SQ5 reviews, the changes for the 254HP 3.0 TFSI engine are more substantial than I imagined. They are taking about a stiffened block and forged crankshaft. if true, this is a pretty big deal IMO.

Also it appears a new intake and exhaust in addition to the block and crankshaft.

The radiator, intake and exhaust also appear to have been changed. All of these changes are a pretty big deal I would think from a cost and certification perspective. Seems too many changes just for the relatively low volume North American SQ5.

Now I'm wondering if the S4/S5 will get the this engine until (and after) the B9 is released. Turbo 4 for the B9 S4/S5, and uprated supercharged 3.0TFSI for the B9 RS4/RS5...time will tell.
