1999 Audi a3 8L remote lock/unlock
 

Hi

When I bought my car (1999 A3, 1.8T) it came with only one key without remote, only transponder. Well I thought that buying a key fob with remote and program it to the car would be OK, so I did.
I programed the transponder but unfortunately the remote programing looks impossible to do. I searched the net and found some info on VAG-COM programing which I carried out but still not working.

My question is: How can I find out if the central locking/vacuum pump is remote controlled or not? Because I have heard that there are versions of central locking without remote control.
