First night at the track for me, #163 of course first run was my best- terrible reaction time. Stock B8- Couldn't duplicate the ET the rest of the night...

Did you try using launch control?

My car recorded 3 launchs out of my 6 runs, only one of them was intentional and that was my 2 nd best ET. On the 2 unplanned launches I didn't have the accelerator floored, I was trying a couple different ideas for starting. Next time I go I'm going to try to get a solid launch, I also want to try one run in manual. My best RT of that night was a .18 but my run was a 14.23. I think I got caught up in trying to catch a good RT...

I wouldn't worry so much about your reaction time. That's only important if you are bracket racing. I'd just focus on the launch control. I don't have an S4, but I'm fairly certain that there's an actual "Launch Control" feature. I'll see if I can dig up where I thought I saw that. Regardless, 13.8 isn't a bad time at all for your car :)

Here it is:

I turned the car on with my foot on my brake. Switched to Dynamic. Hit the traction control button until it says ASR OFF. Shift to D and then to the manual version of D to the right. Hit the throttle with my foot while still braking. At about 20% throttle it goes up to 1k RPM, but between 20% and 99% throttle it just stays at 1k RPM until you 100% floor it and it pops up to 3k RPM and just floats there. At this point just let off the brake and VROOOOOOOOOM!

Yea I know how to use the launch control, I had done 2 before I went to the track. On my second run I launched just like that, but it doesn't have to be in manual, it will launch in D as well, you just have to be in Dynamic with ASR off.
The other 2 "launches" that were recorded was because I was hitting the gas on the third yellow and then releasing the brake- I think this lead to better RT's but there was more of a delay in my acceleration. I'm just going to look at ET's next time, like you said RT is only important in head to head racing.

Gotcha - sorry if I misunderstood. I'm just a little surprised that the 60' was 2.0. I would have guessed it would be 1.8 or 1.9. But again I'm still impressed with the 13.8 bone stock up here at altitude.

EDIT: I just saw that another S4 with DSG ran a 13.95 @ 100.67 with a 2.088 60' at Bandimere. The density altitude on that run was 8564'. So yah pretty darn close to your run.

Just out of curiosity - what was the other car that ran the 10? I know this wasn't a bracket race, but based upon his RT -- that dude really knows what he's doing!

It was a bike in the other lane, my 2 best runs were against bikes. Yea I was surprised by the sub 14 times I didn't expect it, plus they let my 17 year old son run with me.
Run # 5 was interesting, they put me against a Quick 16 car- his 60' time was .743, his parachute was out before I was even at 1/8 mile! It was impressive to see from our perspective, after so many years being in the grandstands being on that side of the wall is really fun. I went to the Drag Times website and the DA tool they have estimated the DA around 8700' that day.
I couldn't go tonight but might try for next week...

I'm tempted to take my big ass party boat A6 up there to see what it would run.
