A6 Steering Column Cover Removal
So far I have removed the 2 torx screws from the underside of the cover & the 2 phillips screws in the front of the lower cover. Lower cover just will not come off. Appears to be some attachment point near the steering wheel, but I can't see anything.
I need to replace the W/Washer lever assembly (my 19 year old broke it off somehow). HELP! |
Looks like you need to remove the steering wheel.

I've done this, but I don't remember. When I did the evaporator swap, I used Bentley. I have a fair amount of Audi experience and mad skilz, but after using Bentley it is clear to me that I would have broken a ton of plastic parts if I had not carefully followed the Bentley.

There is one more torx bolt near the tilt lever on underside, but you will need to remove the steering wheel anyway to replace the wiper stalk.
Refer to this article which gives more detail on the stalk replacement (for the signal stalk but they are attached to each other): https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec162.shtml Refer to this writeup for info on the steering wheel column trim for a non-4.2 (my 2.7T): https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho....php?t=1702901 Good luck! |

My A6 also has the turn signal problem you mentioned. But mine makes a very fast clicking noise in the dash, behind the radio - Relay Problem??? Usually, after I operate the 4-way flashers for a few minutes, the turn signals work, but only for a few seconds. |
