Audi Wheel Bolt. How much torque?
 

Can so body please tell me how much torque I can give to the wheel bolt. I always check the wheels are tight. Thank You in advance...

Per Bentley Manual, specified tightening torque for all Audi models except RS2 and RS4 (type 8D) is 120 N–m (89 lb–ft). For A6(security) and A8(security), the specified tightening torque is 140 N–m (103 lb–ft).

My owners manual says 90 lb ft for my '08 S6. Haven't checked Bentley yet.

I took my wheels off for the first time using my torque wrench and it was definitely set a little over 90lbs. I had the wrench set at 100 ft lbs and it still clicked. I tightened back at 100 and had no problems.

Don't use a torque wrench to remove fasteners - it's a quick way to damage the wrench. Breaker bars are much cheaper.

Not surprised at the bolts being tighter than spec. Most dealers do that, unfortunately. No damage usually results, unless the bolts are WAY over spec, or if they are not consistent within the one wheel hub.

i ain't getting in a car with wheels speced to 85 n/m .. :)

taking wheels off is not an accurate measure to determine what they were tightened at, and as mentioned it's a great way to ruin your your wrench , factors such as heat , corrosion and time will ususallytighten a fastener. I am sure we have all seen studs that snap off or wrenches that have been jumped up and down on to get them off.. 85- 90 lbs sounds about right ..
