02 Audi A4 3.0L fuel pump replacement

Hi well long story short my uncle give me a 2002 Audi A4 that he bought salvage some years ago, he couldn't ever fix it so he passed on to me, the problem with the car is that first of all the gas tank floor had some sludge since the gas was sitting down on the car for about 4 years (NOT KIDDING 4 YEARS!!!). So here I am I took off the gas tank, clean it up with thinner, put it back again and I bought the pump that the Audi dealer told me it was for my vin number on the car, and of course now I don't know how to connect the pump or putting the new one on the clean tank since when I took over the car the pump was already been took off. Dammmm I know huh?? such a mess, well I am not in a hurry to fix it right now but I would appreciate any help that you guys could provide me with on how to connect the new pump since it has a lot of connections:

1. That goes to the fuel filter
2. The return one
3. Another in the center of the base of the pump which only leads to a tiny little hose that apparently goes back into the tank
4. and another extra pipe that goes connected to the return hose but it goes inside of the tank, but honestly I couldn't find any place where that thing goes.

Can someone please help me out I already bought the pump which cost me like around 320 dlls and I had to dismount the whole suspension just to take out the tank so I could clean it and I really want to start the car so I know that I am not just wasting money. Thanks a lot in regards I would really appreciate any help.

hey thanks lyleswk

hey thanks man, I really appreciate your prompt response but that is not the same application as mine, that is for an old like around 1998 audi a4, and the pump goes under the seat, mine is a 2002 audi a4 and it goes in the trunk, also the pump showed over there is the one that has the housing inside the tank, and mine is the one that comes with the whole housing, I was able to connect the in and out fuel lines, and the electric connector, but I am missing a connection that goes into the tank and also there is an extra pipe that goes connected to the return I suppose and it goes inside the tank and it has a little clamp but I am unable to figure it out where it has to be clamp on. Thank you man

1. Is the one that I don't know what to do with.
2. Is the pipe that goes in the tank that it goes connected to #3
4. those are the clips that I don't know where they go clipped since there is nothing inside the tank showing where they go

That is good to know. Just looking at the pictures it looked like a B6. Is it useful at all or did you figure out the connections yourself?

Hi yes it is a B6 2002 Audi A4, and well the picture I did it my own with paint LOL, and that is how far I have investigated about it, honestly it is really hard to find any information about it, I hope with your help and some other audi fans I will finally can be able to put that awesome car back to the road. Thanks a lot man if you find something else just let me know.
