Question on interior materials

With my new used car, there are a couple of interior cosmetic issues that trouble me.

The front top panel above the glove box under the windshield has a small mark like an outline of a box - maybe the previous owner stored something there. Is this vinyl or some other material? If vinyl I should be able to use vegetable oil or vinylex.

The auto shift knob has some marks/scratches on top. Minor I know but it bothers me. I'm thinking of ordering one and replacing it myself. Anyone have suggestions where/how.

My dog already put a gouge in the Milano leather of the center armrest with his claws. May wait on that one, but again, can't seem to find the part.

Any info appreciated!

Is this what you're seeing on your dash?

It's the center front armrest and I've a 2011 Q5 3.2 with the luxury package ( i.e the upgraded leather ).

Yes!! I was wondering if it was airbag related. I guess there isn't a solution. My car is still under warranty though.

Having had a L A R G E dog, I would say that if the dog left a claw print in the first armrest, he's likely to do it in the next armrest. You might be better off finding a good piece of heavier stronger leather and velcro'ing it on top of the armrest, replacing as needed. There are all sorts of sources for good leather online these days, all sorts of colors and grades so it can look professionally done.
