grinding steering noise when turning wheel sharply
When I make a tight turn (pull into a parking space, out of my driveway) I hear a grinding/crunching/crinkling noise, like the steering is struggling, almost stretching, once I turn my wheel about 80-90% to full turn. It only seems to happen the first 15 minutes or so that I am driving. Can anyone help me diagnose?

You're low on steering fluid.

...and maybe have a leak...

Its most likely your power steering. If you have the steering wheel all the way to the left or right for longer than 15 seconds it starts to make a noise? look at your owners manuel for details

True, it could be a leak. Just top it up for now and if it happens again, then start looking for a leak.

Could also be a bad CV joint from a torn CV boot. If so, it needs to be replaced, since its now making noise from a lack of lubrication.

My vote is for a failing CV joint (likely one of the outers) on the front. You can get new axle assemblies (with new CV joints) for about $100 per side if that turns out to be the problem.
