That's it! I'm SICK of my @#%&! brake dust!!

Help!

What are my options aside from selling my A6?

wagongotya 04-24-2006 06:25 AM

get low dust pads...almost anything is better than oem.

tommytm 04-24-2006 08:28 AM

Right...what are good options?

nord1899 04-24-2006 09:03 AM

I'd ask over in the A6 forum if you haven't already

But here is some other info that might be of use:

<a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/81590.phtml">An A8 driver's opinion on brake pads out there</a>
<a href="http://www.stoptech.com/products/high_performance_pads.shtml">Little FAQ from StopTech regarding pads</a>
Note that all the pads listed above may not necessarily work in your A6, thus why I suggested asking them.

here's a good place to start

thanks! Looking at the Ferodo 2500's.

I'd been using Mintex Reds on my A6 because of the OEM dust problem; however,

they tend to make a lot more noise. I'm going to try Hawk Performance Cermaics this time. In fact, I just got the pads and new rotors (Brembo OEM plain) in the mail yesterday. I'll be having a brake day coming up soon if you want to join. I bought from ECS Tuning.<ul><li><a href="http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi?make=Audi&amp;engine=V6%202.8L&am p;model=C5%20A6&amp;submodel=Quattro&amp;category= Braking&amp;subcategory=OEM">more here</a></li></ul>

Be careful with ECS Tuning and your Credit Card. Lots of fraud issues happening and the general

consensus on many forums (not just AW) is that ECS Tuning has either security issues or an employee doing outright fraud.

So watch out in the near future for fraudelent charges against the CC you used with ECS Tuning.

SUBLIME 04-25-2006 11:37 AM

Yeah, I read some info about that. Pretty tough to just write them off completely though.

I'm not saying don't be careful, but . . .

I do watch my books carefully.

Oh, and I used a payPal Debit card, so I think there is $10.50 left on the card from my transfer.

Well not much difference in price in the world of aftermarket tuners/parts suppliers

So you have to go with customer service. And if ECS is really at fault for this, their CS skills are very lacking.
