Smog self test vag procedure
 

I did this two years ago when I smogged my CA car.

When you clear codes and reset readiness you can force readiness test.

There is a dealer self test sequence you can enter to force the A8 to clear readiness while idling in driveway or parking lot of smog check;) without having to drive for days.

I know this exists because I did it once before
