Just wanted to say hello. I just purchased a 2007 Audi S6 with 87k miles. Car had all services done at Audi up to 85k and was in great condition.
I purchased it to replace my 2011 G37S sedan which was stolen about 6 months ago. Car feels tight and fast, but I am getting used to driving automatic again. My weekend car is a 86 944 Turbo which I am restoring and my wife drives a 2011 WRX.

Welcome to the group, I have an 08 S6 with 85K on the clock. Great cars, aside from the quirky transmission.

Really like the color.

I have a 2008 S6 but it is in black which I really wanted to stay away from.

I also have a Porsche for a summer car. It is a 1990 964.

My son has a 2011 WRX also.

Congrats on the purchase of your S6 beast. Also, on your project car. the 951 was one of Porsche's best. The high polar moment of inertia of those cars makes it extremely stable at triple digits. Had an '88 951 TS and also an '89. Those years had the larger hot housing and were thus able to put out 30 more HP (PS)up top. They also respond very well to manual boost controllers. The current Audi 2.0 TFSI stole some design tricks from the 951 motor, most notably the Mitsubishi patented balancer shafts. Great to see car guys keeping ageless Porsche engineering still representing on the roads. :)

Thanks guys.

Car was in pretty good shape and had all services done at Audi through the 85k service. Love the sound of the engine. After market wise, I might just do a tune. I guess there is not much that can be done to the V10

The 951 was my dream car, but after picking it up for 3k, I have already invested another 12k into it. it has a manual boost controller. It should be close to 300hp at the wheels. will probably dyno it at some point. Only pushing 12-15bls of boost right now.

This WRX has been a bit of a lemon. Its my wifes second WRX and she loves it, but the clutch went out at 21k miles and the engine block had to be rebuilt at 37k. A bit disappointing.

I have been reading on this great site for 3 years bit never written anything. As an old car nut at 68, I have owned more than 40 cars with the last three being Audi. After an extended oversea trip, I came back to Calgary, Alberta (just north of Montana), I bought a 2001 TT, chipped it with APR. What ahoy but needed a 4 door to haul the grandkids and the TT was hitting8Ng 178,000km, so I went for a 2006 S4. It w@s a good sport with some minor problems, right head light always stuck, windshieldhas lots of dings, Hood needed repainting etc., so I went for a 2008 S6 two months ago. Obviously, there are many minor fixes to be done. My first V10 and sheruns smooth. Only the last few years I realized the ultimate performance of you car is immaterial, it's your ability to handle the lady! I had a 2001 911 C4, the best I did was 200km. Also had a 2006 WRX, handled like 911 in the city. Not to Bragg, and the S6 is a beautiful work of art. I went to Tirerack and purchased set of winter wheels and Bridgestone Blizzard pm60. The last 10 days we had 5 snowfalls and the city was constantly in a crawl. The S 6 went through 2 to 3 ft of snow and was behaving like a tank. The original battery died on a Friday afternoon during one of the storm, got it started and went to the dealer in town, Glenmore Audi. Must compliment the services as they replaced the battery @ 5:30pm in the afternoon.
My next problem is the MMI, supposed to be looked after on the new year. Our dealer is very busy but the services is excellent. The S4 had a window problem (could not close) while I was on the way to Vancouver, Richmond Audi had really help and fixed the suspension brushings at the same time, although it wasn't cheap.
Just wanted to say, I have really great experience with Audi services and there are Indy mechanics in town doing good work but no services.
I am enjoying my S6 and hope you enjoy yours too.

Welcome to the club. The S6 is a great car and you will enjoy the power and the luxury. The car is understated but when people hear that burble of the V10 heads are turned and questions asked.

My only suggestion is to get VAG-COM from RossTech.com. It will save you a lot of money since you will be able to diagnose a problem and then decide if you fix it yourself or go to dealer and be BS proof since you know what's wrong.
