How fast do you go over speed bumps?

We have these speed bumps here that my moms SUV (ok Mini SUV ...whatever) can barly go over at 20. How fast do those of you who are lowered and have kits go over speed bumps (not speed humps)?

ben gt/cs 06-04-2004 05:33 PM

1 mph

2tuŽbos1mission 06-04-2004 05:39 PM

~3mph

1mph, and at an angle if possible. btw, you're not supposed to be able to

go over speed bumps at 20 mph. That's the whole point!

ILMA_Revo_Stage_2+ 06-04-2004 05:58 PM

as slow as possible :D

Man...what about speed tables & speed humps?

In NoVA the wise bureaucrats have decided that in addition to motorcycle cops weilding radar guns, the way to slow commuter traffic down thru neighborhoods is to install speed tables. Which in my stock sport A4 can be easily taken at 25 (speed limit), but not much higher. Every day I get stuck behind people in floaty non-sport cars who have to slow down to 15, or cargo vans, etc that insist on slamming on their brakes before every one. It's so annoying.

And because I have to flop over these things every day, my suspension's life will be shortened. Crap. Just glad they fix the potholes around here with my car tax dollars, in addition the humps (& stop signs they add at every neighborhood intersection.)

WTF is a speed table? Sounds like what we have here.

I hit them at an angle, one wheel at a time.Releasing brakes at the last sec lets springs decompress

and relieving the weight transfered forward during braking.

more gentle approach angle than a bump; but wider (4' or so) when elevated. like a table

would probably make for some good fun on a dirt bike.

Here they put pavers in the middle of some of them. Which will disintigrate after 2 years & they'll have to rebuild them. Again, thank god for the car tax.

50mph, I like to make the car fly.
