Excessive oil consumption
 

I have an 07 A4 Avant with the 2.0T engine. I use about 1/2 quart of oil every 800 miles. Audi says that this is normal. My wife has an 05 A4 1.8 that uses no oil between her 10,000 mile services. Audi refuses to look into the mater. They refuse to perform an oil consumption test until it uses more that 1/2 quart every 600 miles. Please HELP !

From my experience, every Audi motor is unique when it comes to oil consumption. My '96 A4 with a 2.8 used a full quart every 1000 miles. My '98 A4 with the same motor hardly used any. The 2.7T in my allroad also used lots of oil but the 3.2 in my current A4 has never needed an extra drop over 63K miles. Go figure.

unless there is blue smoke (sign of excessive oil burning) coming out of the exhaust or you use more than 1/2 qt per 600 miles i wouldnt really be too worried about. just keep monitoring it and if the oil consumption increases talk to the audi dealer again
