Weird shifter problem

OK this has happened to me like 3 times now, this being the 4th. Its almost like on a hard 1-2 shift, I pull my shifter out of alignment. And only happens on a hard 1-2. I'll loose the ability to get 1st or 2nd gear, and have to start in 3rd. After getting tools and readjusting my shifter, its fine again .. slightly. Its never really felt perfect, almost like its sticky coming out of first, but definately driveable. Other than this I've never had any grinding or shifting problems so I have ruled out its a bad transmission. Its happened like 3 times over the last year. And it doesnt ALWAYS happen. but when it does, a hard 1-2 is the condition.

It has to be something in the shifter mechanism, or linkage? Any ideas? I did some research and saw mentionings of replacing shifter bushings, or one person actually said the linkage came loose from the transmission and caused a similiar problem?

You need to stop pummmping zo much iron.

Or doing other things that give you superhuman forearm strength ;) Either that or the problem is in the interface between your seat and shifter.

Seriously, If you want to bring it by for me to look at, I can check the shift mechanism out for ya.
