Best ECU Flash?

Hi folks.
I just got a 4.2 allroad w 5 sp Tip and want better acceleration and general performance. Love the handling having just done an Arnott coil conversion and added BFG super sport A/S tires and a K&N air filter.
Should I reprogram both the engine and transmission?
Do I have to do this with two mfr's and two separate programs?
Can an APR chip/flash do both trans and engine?
Anyone ever use a G-force tune? For under 100 they sure make some big promises...
Thanks in advance for any insights!
Best,
Wilkmaster

I just got my 4.2 and was wondering the same things

until the experts get in and respond....

http://www.revotechnik.com/index.php?mod=audi#stage1

http://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_upgrade_c5a642.html

etc...

find a local shop you trust and spend a few $'s and enjoy.......

99% of the tunes will be close to each other, and some will say this is better than that by 1.734 hp or it's logs better, or....

ANY of them are MUCH better than stock ! Enjoy :)

I'm in the same boat as you guys...
I just picked up a 00 A6 4.2 Tip and want a bit more out of it.
Got a few small maintenance issues to take car of first then i will add a cold air intake and exhaust without sacrificing comfort.

However...
I would like to add Unitronic to the "list"

Here is my 2 cents.. First before modding , make sure the car is in great shape.

Oil correct type and correct levels ( change oil at regular specified intervals)

Battery and electrical ( Alt and other charging components ) are working within specs. make sure all battery connection are clean and tight. A healthy ignition is a must , especially if you will be modding

Make sure Fuel pump is like new ( they gradually lose efficiency over time)and so do the O2 sensors..

Tires incorrect pressure will add resistance, brakes can drag also robbing you of power.

On my cars I used to have some much crap in the car it was ridiculous.. Remove all the crap , weight and heat are your enemies.
