Why can't we do away with state run liquor stores?
Don't expand the number of stores and sunday hours, do away with the stores entirely!
Let's take advantage of this time of change and allow all retail food stores to start selling liquor. I am sure that will raise more tax revenue, reduce costs and get the state out of a business it has no good reason to be in.<ul><li><a href="http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2008672459_webliquor26.html">http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2008672459_webliquor26.html</a</li></ul> |

sounds like a great idea to me. we will probably get a better selection too...
|
I certainly wish Oregon would do that

I effing HATE that the state controls hard alcohol here. Down in Vegas it was so much
nicer being able to go to Walmart or Lee's Liquor and stock up on party supplies. Selection down there was also a hell of a lot better since the stores actually had to COMPETE with each other for customers. It's absurd how the state nannies this stuff in WA.

There is one hybrid independent liquor store I know of and its right off highway 2 in Skykomish.
|
I used to go to Costco all the time for liquor in CA
I really can't believe that the state still controls hard liquor sales in WA. It is absolutely ridiculous.

Everyone wins!
seriously, I see no downside
|
Seriously!
|
man, if i could walk to safeway instead of all the way to the liquer store and its joke hours
that would be awesome!!
