Best Chip Upgrade
 

Does anyone have any thoughts on the best chip upgrade for the 2001 Audi A4 2.8 30v? So far here's the list I'm considering:

Neuspeed- 5/6 HP
Total Audi Performance - 17 HP
GIAC - 6/9 HP
Upsolute - 21 HP

Which company is the most reliable/credible? Let me know, thanks!

None of those chips are gonna give you more than 5hp alone. TAP sucks by the way.

Stay stock.
 

Those chips might gain you a few more HP, but will they be usable HP? If your car is an automatic, you need torque, not hp.

If you go chip, go GIAC
 

I have a GIAC in mine, it 'maybe' gives 5HP increase, but the power curve feels much better. This is butt-dyno BTW, I have yet to get a real dyno pull in. If you are a TIP, then get the tip-chip...now that's a great mod!

GIAC is the most reliable, period. None of the professed HP gains will be noticeable, although it will adjust the power curve a bit so it feels like you have a bit more power. Throttle response is improved as well. Let me know if you are interested in GIAC, as I have mine laying around...

I just got back from my first all highway roadtrip after having my engine and tip-chip installed (to go along with my SIII MAF mod)...I am happy to say I got over 30mpg for the first time...over 31mpg to be exact. Not too shabby and better performace to boot. EPA estimates were 27mpg highway for this car when new!!!
