B6 3.0 Throttle Body Location and Removal
 

I want to clean the throttle body in my 2002 A4 3.0, but I'm not too sure where it is exactly. There are plenty of DIYs on the web about cleaning the TB on a 1.8, but nothing for a 3.0. Looking at my engine bay, the TB is definitely not where the DIYs say it is. Based on observation and hearing the clicks and whining, my guess is it is located right in front of the firewall by the driver side. Unfortunately, there are some wiring harnesses and hoses above the TB, blocking easy access to it. Before I even attempt to move those out of the way, can someone confirm that the TB is indeed there? If so, what is the recommended procedure for removing and cleaning the TB? Certainly looks more involved than the 1.8, maybe because the engine bay is crammed with so much.

Well i belive your right about the location. I will look at mine tonight when i put my exhaust on and get back to you i may even clean it. If so i will tell you how i did it.
