Climate Control Diagnostic codes - 2000 Audi A6

Does anyone in entire world know descriptions, in good English, of dignostic channels and related trouble/error codes accessiable via 1998-present Audi A6 dual zone Climate Control (it shows up to 89 channels)???? Is this Audi's biggest secret?

Pls do not refer to older A/C's channel descriptions (61, for example, on http://www.12v.org/maint/cc.html) and code descriptions - they do not match.

I have found a German Audi TT site http://www.tt-owners-club.de listing 77 channels that seem to be the same for Audi A6 (it looks like the 78th-89th on my car are simply reserve channels - they all show "0"s). However, the channel and error descriptions, when translated by Google, are poorly understandable. Also, it is not clear in which display (right or left) to look for which error codes. For example, when I go into the diagnostic mode, my A/C immediately shows 19 in left display, and 04 in the right????? What could these mean?

Andrew,
if you have a problem with the German description of a code ask me, I can translate them for you. Also, you might check the very useful http://dict.leo.org

19-04...

...means you have a sporadic fault with your high pressure switch. Since this is one item that is used to control your condensor fan, this may help explain why that doesn't function.

HTH and Good Luck!!

Can you tell me where that pressure switch is located?
Thx for useful prompt.

FYI. My Service Advisor told me that the Tip transmission can be recoded (00032)via the A/C system.

Can you get more details from him? Also, can disable 130mph governor with radio, until restart.

What makes me uneasy about your version is that in the error tables for the I/C, the error location 19 (Switch) is not associated with errors 03 or 04, that my A/C shows.....

QCRAZY 07-02-2002 11:50 AM

19 is associated with...

...15,16,17,18 (or something like that). That gives you four options. Either high pressure or low pressure switches and either sporadic or continous.

04 tells you it's sporadic. And the fact that your radiator fan doesn't work leads me to believe it's the high pressure switch.
