removing rear driveshaft
We have the front subframe disconnected but the driveshaft wont pull out of the tranny. We are tryign to pull the motor forward but it wont budge. am i missing something?

Sounds like there is some binding, driveshaft should be removed before you lower the subframe
just take a screwdriver and tap it with a hammer on the flange and get it off.
|
Did you unbolt it?
|
we finally got it
I was following simply's guide and it says remove the 6 A bolts which i assume meant allen bolts, but I coudlnt get the shaft to slide out that way for some reason so we removed the six torx bolts at the end of the tranny to get it off.
Engine is finally out of the car, cant say it has been much fun doing this for the first time but I guess learning is part of the learning curve. |
car minus the engine

whats the advantage of pulling the whole subframe if you have the front open as suppose to
the normal engine pull from the front w/o the subframe?
|
thanks
It is encouraging to see similar pictures. This is by far the biggest automotive undertaking by myself and my brother besides doing a downpipe swap and isntalling springs and struts. I knwo it will all go back together alright but it is still scary to see the whole front of the car laying on the ground.

I dunno, you have a smaller piece of equipment laying around? basically the same . . .

Got AIM?
You have a relative with a 355, right?
