mmm... I thought pentosin was hydraulic fluid. is it available as motor oil too?
Pentosin produces a line of products.. yes they have motor oils too.
Gee, I bet this is the elusive 5w40 synthetic oil originally spec'd for the S4...
...I wonder if I should try it next?
FWIW, valvoline also makes a synthetic 5W-40, but this oil being german is probablay
what they had in mind...
My '00 S4 did not have syn oil spec'ed. I 've had M1 in it since 4K miles.....
AFAIK, factory fill, nor dealer, NEVER used synthetic unless the owner payed for it...warranty change or otherwise. I'm having a problem finding 5W-40 synthetic for my wife's '03 Passat 4-motion which is the manual recommendation (5W-40). Mobil1 has a 0W-40 tho.I know who mfg's it...just not in my geographical location in Lehigh Valley, PA for availability.
Well, the reason I say synthetic is that 5w40 was the spec and no one ever found a 5w40 dino oil.
Yeah, just like Motul sells oil, too.
5w40 was my spec and the only one making it was Valvoline but I wasn't going to run Valvoline . . .
