I'm going to tune my A4 1.8T Q up to 400HP , so does it harm the trans ?
Hi everyone , I'm going to tune my a4 1.8T q with 5 speed trans up to 400hp , that with the use of unichip , APR stage 3 kit, and changing cams , cluch , piston rods . Is that harming the trans ?
also , I live in hot and humid climate , so is there any ( overheating ) problem that I may face in future ?
please let me know .. Thanks alot ..

Be prepared to spend some money if you want it to last.
B6 internals are very weak in the conrod area.
The engine is far weaker than previous model B5 engines.
The oil control ring is also much to be desired in these engines.
Essentially look at buying new pistons, and rods to start with.
It seems that 300HP is upper limit on these engines before you have to pull them apart and change some essential parts.
Or you can by some kit that vendor overstates the power if its just a figure you want to tell your friends.

My 01 tt 5speed with a quafe lsd and clutch/flywheel kit could not handle the stock apr stage 3 kit, the gears were nuked within 20k miles of the install. Ended up costing 5 grand to get a real gearset put in, it would of been much cheaper to have it done when the cluch lsd and flyweel where done...
