Cam shafts
Has anyone changed the camshaft in their 1.8? Seems like a good way to make hp. Question; does the head have to come off to remove cam or is it a drop in affair? I'm used to old BMW's where one had to remove the head vs old VW's where you could just drop in a cam. The dealer would never know!!!!

Car runs rough at idle. I also run on race chip with 91 octane
just to get enough adv timing to make the car run right.
On a non dbw A4 the motor is going to run lean because the cams are going to allow more air flow thru the cylinder. I am still waiting to get the car tuned on a dyno.

Running rough at idle is from the cams. Letting in a ton more air is from the cams too.
On a non dbw car you would still need to have the chip tuned for the extra air flow. I need to have my idle bumped up to 1000-1100 rpms.

Adv timing has to do with my motor not the cams.
Adv timing was about my motor. I put the rest about tuning a chip for the cams.
I am running a standard K04 chip but the car is no where near 100% tuned.
