When to swap to winter tires in Olympia, WA? We don't drive much & no pass/mountain travel.

First full winter here after moving from PA. Last year I left the summer & all season tires on our TT & A4 all winter & didn't really have any issues. I figure I might as well mount the winter wheels/tires this year since they are just collection dust in the garage.
My A4 has all seasons & gets barely ever driven, but the wifey's TT has summer tires & gets driven everyday.
Any input on when to make the swap?
Thanks.

Most summer performance tires (HP & UHP) become "hockey pucks"
at about 40 degrees F, plus early morning frost in shady areas provide little grip for them. At least swap out the TT now. Olympia falls in the "colder outlying areas" frequently mentioned in local weather forcasts.

Put mine on today, but I'm a ski bum so i will be up there once the snow is.
You could probably hold off to the end of November we usually don't get snow down low till later, but we have before

2nd, I'd wait. Honestly, some winters around here you could get easily get by without switching, at
least if you never head up to the mountains. Not saying that this winter is going to be one of those....
My GY GS-D3's are great in the rain, and not too bad in the cold, so I usually wait until there's a forecast of snow, or temps in the 30's for a few days. I hate chewing up my Blizzaks for no reason.
We do get a lot of black ice here, so be aware until you get used to what it looks like and when/where it forms.
