PSA: An important inspection for ALL Late Model Audi Owners PLEASE READ!
Fellow Audi Owners/Friends/Customers,
With the recent heavy rains we've seen a dramatic increase in clogged plenum drains on late model Audis (1996-present) and VW Passats. The plenum drain is a 2" drain hole in your cowl below the windshield and under the battery. This drain can clog and prevent water from draining out, the water then begins to fill up in the cowl, from there the water can flood into the interior cabin through via cabin filter, the brake booster (Which can in turn work its way into the engine) and flood out the ECU box causing driver's side interior leaks and fuse panel/ECU damage.
Everyone should take a minute today to pop your hood and do a quick visual inspection, if you have excessive leaves or pine needles sitting on the cowl cover you may have also have a clogged plenum drain. If you've experienced condensation in the car, noticed water on the passenger side floor, drivability issues, especially with B5 tiptronic A4s you should get your car into one of our locations as soon as possible to avoid further damage. You may also be able to have your plenum drain grommet removed for free by VW or Audi depending on the year and model, check with your local dealer. We only charge .5 hours (about $40) to remove the drain grommet, vacuum out all debris and if necessary replace the cabin filter.
We're happy to assist anyone who is unsure of what they're looking for, just stop by either location and we'll do a quick visual inspection absolutely free. If we see signs of a clogged plenum drain we'll advise you and take immediate action (without appointment) to correct this condition.
You may have already received a previous notice from Audi or Volkswagen regarding this problem, its hit or miss on the models and years but all chassis and models are effected by the same problem regardless.
Again please take a moment to open your hood and look directly below the windshield for excessive leaves or pine needles (you may even see standing water!) if you've heard sloshing in your car when cornering, noticed condensation in the car, water in the floors, drivability issues, especially in tiptronic cars please do not hesitate to bring your car in to either of our locations immediately for corrective actions, you may also be eligible to have repairs made free of charge by Audi of America or VW of America, they may also reimburse you for any damages or labor charges performed by independent shops depending on how wide this campaign spreads (time will tell) so save your receipts.

Do what he says or spend $600 getting ghost power windows fixed
Been there, done that... two weeks after I got my car 4 years ago.
Drenched the passenger floor and fried the window controller and driver's window switch. That was my introduction to as well as last visit(s) to Sunset. Only took 3 trips there to fix it right.
