Default Mt. Hood... how long do you think the mountain will be open for?

thinking about going to portland first weekend of May and wouldn't mind doing a little boarding. also, about what percentage of the lifts/runs will be running around that time?

Default i'm assuming this is the correct map

so based on this pic, which runs tend to stay open into may? is there a good chance the whole mtn will be up and running the first weekend of may?

http://www.timberlinelodge.com/terrain/</a

Default It is most likely you will want Timberline

Meadows usually starts doing a challenge of 6000ish people per weekend or they shutdown. Last year it was early.

Given the economy and the snow I imagine Meadows will be closed by early May if things don't improve. If we get a ton of snow then morale improves, more people go, and they stay open a little longer. But the Meadows management frankly sucks, and even though I've had a pass there for years, I have no love for the business, just the mountain.

Timberline is open later but you might only get the glacier and some park-type stuff. The lower altitudes get pretty soft and unridable by late spring.

Default Its to hard to say all depends on weather, if they still have snow

timberline has the mile and in late spring they open palmer up. right now palmer is buriied in snow plus its no fun with 40mph winds and -20 degrees at times on mile lift. which they usually close. Dont worry the olympic teams train on Hood during summer time.

Meadows on the weekend is such a pain that its not even worth it.
