I sure hope those things get banned someday.

Default If you have quattro, no need for studs....

I ran studs for 25 years until I had a decent AWD. No reason for studs with good AWD like quattro.

Default we dont need studs any place in the NW. people think they are safer but

in reality they are more dangerous

Default Exactly. Studs are only needed on pure ice.

The wet snow/slush we get here in the NW can easily be handled by studless snow tires. Studs in the wet/dry are actually more dangerous as you have less traction.

Default Black ice is the only reason to have studs in PNW. Unfortuneatly I have seen a fair amount of it

over the years...

Default Even with studded tires, the roads around here can't get that much worse...

and I'm from New England, I know a bad road when I see one.
