Default Broken CAT at Flange

With some help from you guys I figure that I have a broken CAT at the flange...very common to A4 98-99. Some told me to get it welded. WHy?
Shouldn't the dealer take care of it under 7/70000K warranty?

Any experience out there with Seattle Dealers?

Thx everyone.

yeah I guess they should but they wont. I did get mine done @ barrier and they were cool with my cat back aftermarket Exhaust but your best bet it to get a new one or aftermarket (cheaper) Mine broke after the reweld. There are some pictures in my poster of it.

good luck and for exhaust I'm a fan of Dan Fast in Bellevue/Kirkland...

I cab't believe they can get away with it. THe warranty stated clearly CAT and exhaust are covered 7/70000. I'll call them and try anyway.
What was their excuse?
Anyway, a CAT order from the net cost around $350.

Any experience in installing it yourself? It doesn't seem that hard.

THx

I did not install it. I'm sure it could be done and I would not think it was that hard. but if you do take pictures so others can gain from you.

good luck
